Any suggestions where I should start digging? If your device or application does not support SSL - connect to aspmx.l.google.com on port 25. Since my ISP does not provide a static dns, I am using a dynamic dns service, (DNS2GO), fo my external IP. EDIT: I use exchange so it's a little different, but it's called a smart host in exchange, but in plain SMTP service config I think it's called something else.

If not, it might be a DNS isue. You will need to configure your device to connect to smtp-relay.gmail.com on ports 25 or 465, 587.
