What I would like to see is the Warning in the System event log would give more information. Event Id 7016 Internet Explorer Zonemapping Figure 17 But Trusted Sites shows anything after the TLD is removed. The group policy failed to be applied due to various reasons (reported earlier) and this event simply records the failure without pinpointing to a specific cause.

When done through GP, it shows in IE under the Intranet zone, but doesn't get treated like an intranet zone (File > properties, shows it as Internet).
