This is all worked OK apart from the fact that TSM appears unable to access the tape library controller. That was somehow reset inthe confusion of failed/replaced drives.I removed the paths and drives from TSM, set the TSM drivers to be usedfor ALL TSM devices (libraries and drives), then added Resolving the problem The permission attributes for the /dev/IBM* devices must be changed to allow the non-root Tivoli Storage Manager instance user to have access to them.
